Sister Shirley Hales

Beginning and education

Sister Shirley Hales was born in Montgomery, Alabama in the mid to late fifties and is the fourth of nine children of her parents, Herbert and Mirian Hales.  After graduating from high school Shirley attended and graduated from Huntington College in her city of birth with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.

 

Transition to employment.

After graduation Shirley moved from her hometown to Atlanta, Georgia and taught the subject of English in the public school system.  Not long afterwards, she changed her employment to the State of Georgia where she worked in the Department of Revenue for over thirty-two years dedicating herself in government accounting and business administration services.  

Church affiliation and personal interest.

Sister Hales is one of the foundational members of Lighthouse Church and played a pivotal role in its inception in 1987.  Furthermore, she has been a driving force in Lighthouse Church by singing in the choir, serving as past Youth Coordinator and presently serving as Treasurer of our Church.  Also, Shirley is a member of the Tri-Cities Toastmasters Club where she has served as Seargent of Arms and Treasurer.  In addition to all of her other activities, She also is an entrepreneur and has one daughter, Nanyamka.
