Rev. Ammie Norris Putmon
She was born in Atlanta, Georgia and is the daughter of Obie and Rena Norris. In addition, she attended David T. Howard High School and is a 1967 Graduate. After graduation she attended Mimosa Beauty School and Moler Academy where she received her Cosmetology License. Furthermore, she attended ATT Beauty and Barber College and received her Cosmetology Instruction License. Also, she is the mother of two wonderful sons. Chauncey E. Putmon, the oldest of the two, went home to be with the Lord in February 18, 2013. Her youngest son is Reschos Dante Putmon and she has one daughter, Renee Thomas along with seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.her After her call to the gospel of Christ she has studied Bible courses at On Line Bible College.
Employment History
Minister Putmon has owned three hair salons and she and her youngest son were business partners as owners of a salon and spa in the City of Stone Mountain know as Petals. She is also the owner of Norris Putmon Catering Company where she designs wedding cakes. In addition, she retired from DeKalb County School System as a bus driver after nineteen years of service to the county. During this time she ministered to many administrators, parents and students.
Additional Interests
Minister Putmon is also the founder of "I-Care Ministries" which reach out to the Homeless Community by providing toiletries, clothes, food, comforting words and leads Souls to Christ.
Ministry
After her call to the gospel of Christ Minister Putmon has studied Bible courses at On-Line Bible College. She was Licensed and Ordained on November 11, 2014 at Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church by members of the presbytery with pastor, Randy L. Jordan commendation. Minister Putmon currently serves as one of the Associate ministers of the church and is one of the faithful members and ministers of our church family. Her nick name is "Cover Girl" due to her charm and beauty.
